19 December - Pandora Hearts

“Gil…” you turn your head back to Gilbert, who still sits beside you. “I will try to lead you to him, but I have no idea where I was, and I have no idea how to get back…”

Break walks back towards the table on the opposite wall where there are tea and cupcakes. “Through the mirror, of course!”

You fly up from the bed with a smile. “Yes! Of course! I will lead you to a mirror, and we will go at once!”

“No!” Break’s answer is sudden and definite.

Gil turns to Break. He seems very annoyed. “What do you mean ‘no,’ Break?”

Break calmly places his feet on the table and drinks from his tea cup. After placing his cup down, he answers. “A mirror traveler can only travel alone through any mirror, and her destination as she enters the mirror isn’t absolute!”

You sigh. This seems to be harder than you thought. “Do you know what we should do?”

Break smiles, looking at you with his enchanting red eye. “Yes.”

Silence follows… Break is drinking his tea in silence. You notice how Gil starts to get more and more frustrated by the wait until he is shaking beside you. He grabs Break. “I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! TELL US WHAT WE SHOULD DO, OR I’LL KILL YOU!”

Break chuckles calmly. “Always the impatient one!” He stands up as Gil lets go of his jacket. “In order to travel together and go to any dimension you wish, you have to travel through the blood sealing mirror. There you will get a riddle. And if you, the mirror traveler, answer this riddle correctly, you will open a gate into any dimension you wish. You just have to request to travel into the same exact spot as you were before within the Abyss… But I warn you, the will of Abyss is very strong, and opening a door into the Abyss might also make an opening out of the Abyss. That might make chains travel into our world. Be sure no one gets through the mirror except yourself!”

“A mess, a mess! It will be a mess!” The voice comes from a little puppet on Break’s shoulder. Break laughs and pets the doll’s head. “Now now, Emily. Don’t be too harsh!”

“Nngh…” Gil seems very upset once again. “I thought a blood sealing mirror was only for legal contracts? Why haven’t you told me this before, Break? We could have traveled into the Abyss whenever we wanted? Even back then when Oz was still—“

“I have not kept this away from you, Gil. I have just never had a reason to bring this up!” Gil goes silent by Break’s answer.

“The brat still hasn’t got this,” the puppet on Break’s shoulder shouts, before Break continues.

“The blood sealing mirror is not a gate as you might think. A mirror traveler travels through mirrors, and the blood sealing mirror is a mirror in its own way. We’ve never had a mirror traveler here before, therefore I have had no reason to bring this up,” Break looks at you with a smile. “Shall we go?”

You nod silently as an answer.

You walk down the big mansion stairs and down into a big room.

“Wait here, mirror traveler, and I will be right back,” Break says, walking through one of the doors. It doesn’t take long until he is back.”

“There, there,” he smiles, placing a necklace in your hand.

“What’s… what’s this?”

“That’s the blood sealing mirror! One of them, anyway!” Break answers, closing your hand around it. Then he takes some steps back, knocking his stick towards the floor three times.

Suddenly, a bright light surrounds you…

You hear Break’s and Gil’s voices outside the light.

“Break! What’s the meaning of this?”

“Shh, shh Gil! It has already begun!”

Suddenly, a voice that you do not recognize surrounds you inside the light…

“Say my name, and I disappear. What am I?”



~~~Summary~~~

Break gives you one of the blood sealing mirrors. As you touch it, Break surrounds you with some kind of light. Through the light, you get a riddle. If you answer the riddle correctly, you will open the gate to the place in Abyss where Oz is!

The riddle is:
